Shawn Hardy Raced Sharks
and Won
Not many people can say they’ve escaped a shark attack and escaped from Alcatraz, in the same swim.
Shawn can… sort of. In 2007 he placed 3rd in his division at the Alcatraz Sharkfest swim, a 1.5 mile swim where about a thousand athletes plunge into the 56 degree waters of the San Francisco bay just a few feet from Alcatraz island. The challenge is a 1.5 miles swim through the treacherous (and some say shark infested) waters to shore. The swim takes place on the anniversary of the only real escape from Alcatraz prison, where 2 prisoners made the same swim for more than just exercise.
Shawn is a risk taker and will push himself beyond what most of us would consider a “comfort zone.” In fact, he prefers it. With a hobby like triathlons, Shawn regularly tests his ability to persevere, and he never quits, no matter what it takes to reach his goals. If Shawn isn’t training for his next Ironman, chances are he’s taking risks and pushing his creativity as an art director. Shawn believes every brand has something unique and noteworthy to say, and the only way to let the public know those strengths is to be different, really different. Shawn isn't afraid to put his work out on a limb and push the boundaries of consumer expectation when it comes to advertising.
If you’re looking for a training partner for your next triathlon or want your brand to step outside of the norm, Park&Co has the art director for you.
