The Curious Case of Dan O’Boyle.

How can double-declining depreciation improve your brand?

I couldn’t say. That’s why this accounting major left the world of journals and ledgers for advertising. One long look at the other 40 faces in my advanced taxation class was enough to make me reconsider my life path. Then there was the campus recruiter from Price Waterhouse (a prestigious public accounting firm at the time) who, after interviewing me asked, “Have you given any thought to the circus at all?”

When the opportunity came along to declare Chapter 11 on my accounting career, I didn’t so much leap as base jump. Advertising suits my warped imagination and congenital rule breaking like a 40 Regular Armani. Great accounting is all about not attracting attention. Great advertising is about attracting the kind of attention that requires the hiring of more accountants. Sure, it is kind of a circus, but when we’ve got it working for you, it’s like the greatest show on earth.
